MORE THAN A BYLINE

I’m Jack Angell. Originally from Boston and now based in Los Angeles, I’ve spent much of my life contributing to the music I care about in any way I can.

That’s taken me into music journalism, concert promotion, DJing, and on the road as a tour manager.

I got my start hosting a college radio show called Underground Underdogs, which eventually became my own music blog. The blog quickly gained traction and caught the attention of The FADER, where I began contributing regularly.

Alongside The FADER, I’ve written for Complex, Pigeons & Planes, PAPER, and Alternative Press. I also work directly with artists on biographies and electronic press kits.

Through my writing, I got to know many of the artists I interviewed and eventually had the chance to hit the road with them. Touring has become a major part of my work, supporting artists through the daily demands of getting from one city and one show to the next.

Alongside my work in music, I’m currently writing my debut novel, Raw Lipstick.
